News: Matthew Elsdon signs for Inverness on loan

Inverness have signed Middlesbrough defender Matthew Elsdon on an initial six-month loan deal.

Elsdon is 20 years old and is a centre-back and has spent his whole career to date at Boro, with him playing 35 games last season for Boro’s U21’s.

Centre-back is a position that has needed recruits for ICT, with the departure of Jamie McCart, Louis Laing and Josh Meekings in the summer.

There was reports that Meeking was told to wait and see if they club could still afford him and they may be back in contact and Meekings is yet to sign for another club despite having a while in order to do so.

The signing of Riccardo Calder has been announced by the club this afternoon.

Elsdon is Inverness’s sixth summer signing, joining John Baird, George Oakley, Mark Ridgers, Collin Seedorf and Calder.
