John Baird has spoken for the first time as an Inverness player and has targeted winning the Championship this season.
Baird spoke to the official ICTFC Facebook page and said: “I’ve been in the Championship and know what it’s like to be at the top end of the table.”
“I also know what’s needed to win the division and when I looked at the players that were retained and with the additional of a couple more, I’m sure we’ll be up there for the trophy.”
“I had a great time at Falkirk, I got on really well with the manager and the boys but I just felt this was the right thing for me. With the boys that are here, I do believe we can win the division. ”
Baird also spoke about the pull of new manager John Robertson as he said: “”I’m Over the moon. I knew there was interest but when the new manager gave it the go ahead I was absolutely delighted.”
“I’ve met some of the boys doing the B license and A license so I know them quite well.”
“The manager was a major part of me coming up here, it’s good to hook up and I’m just looking forward to the season ahead.”
When asked about what qualities Baird will bring to Inverness, Baird confidently said: “I’m a good team player, I always give one hundred percent and I’ll score goals if I get opportunities.”
